Comme chaque année, voici la sélection des meilleurs whiskies qu'il m'a été donné de déguster entre le 1er janvier et le 31 décembre 2017, avec une petite exception près, puisque ma mignonette de Karuizawa 1964 de 48 ans a été ouverte le 13 janvier 2018 (la veille de mon 49e anniversaire – vidéo à venir, très bientôt), mais il méritait amplement de faire partie de ce palmarès…
As every year, here is the selection of the best whiskies I was able to taste from January 1st to December 31st 2017, with one small exception, since I opened my 48 years old 1964 Karuizawa mini on January 13th 2018 (the day before my 49th birthday – video to be published very soon), but it really deserved to be part of this list…
Petit rappel : les whiskies récompensés ici ne sont pas forcément des nouveautés de l’année 2017. Certains sont épuisés depuis longtemps mais la plupart peuvent encore être débusqué chez un caviste ou en suivant les liens (cliquez sur le nom du whisky) pour un achat en ligne. Si vous souhaitez acquérir un whisky indisponible, il vous reste les sites de vente aux enchères.
A little reminder : the whiskies rewarded here are not necessarily releases of the year 2017. Some are sold out for a long time but most can still be found at a spirit store or by following the links (click on the name of the whisky) for an online purchase. If you want to buy a whisky that's long gone, you can still search auction sites.

Benromach 35 ans
Un grand merci à Juliette Buchan qui m'a fait découvrir ce merveilleux Benromach lors du Whisky Live Paris 2017. Remarquable en tout point. Un nez somptueux et complexe qu'on aimerait humer pendant des heures. Des notes fruités (compote légèrement caramélisée), du cuir, des vieux livres, du bois de sental. Et une finale interminable. Un single malt de toute beauté !
A big thank you to Juliette Buchan who made me discover this wonderful Benromach during Whisky Live Paris 2017. Remarkable in every aspect. A sumptuous and complex nose that you would like to smell for hours. Fruity notes (slightly caramelized compote), leather, old books, sendalwood. And an endless finish. A single malt of beauty!

Armorik Sherry Cask
Nouveau venu de la gamme Armorik, ce Sherry Cask est doux et onctueux avec un bel équilibre en bouche. Un super rapport qualité/prix pour un whisky dangereusement buvable.
New to the Armorik range, this Sherry Cask is sweet and unctuous with a nice balance in the mouth. A great value for a dangerously drinkable whisky.
